Vasantiben, the sister of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, met Shashi Devi, the sister of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, at a temple in Uttarakhand. Vasantiben and her husband arrived at Neelkanth Dham in Uttarakhand to worship Lord Shiva during the month of Sawan. They later met Shashi Devi near a temple in Kothari. A video of the two women warmly greeting each other and hugging has gone viral on social media.
In related news, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for the re-development of 56 Northeast Frontier Railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Scheme on August 6. This scheme aims to develop railway stations across the country, with 91 stations in the Northeast Frontier Railway identified for redevelopment. Out of the 56 stations, 32 are in Assam, 3 in Tripura, 16 in West Bengal, 3 in Bihar, and 1 each in Nagaland and Meghalaya. The re-development of these stations will be funded by Rs 1960 crore out of a total budget of Rs 5100 crore.
The Amrit Bharat Scheme focuses on continuous, long-term development of stations, including improving access, amenities, cleanliness, Wi-Fi, and passenger information systems. It also aims to integrate the stations with the city and create city centers in the long term.
