The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450d is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which puts out 362 hp of power and 750 Nm of torque. The GLS 450 is powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged Petrol engine which puts out 375 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque. Both engine gets 48V mild hybrid technology and Mercedes claims it gives an additional 20 hp and 200 Nm.
In terms of design, the new GLS will feature minor cosmetic upgrades over the outgoing model. The SUV will get a re-designed bumper along with a new grille that features four horizontal louvres with a Silver Shadow finish. The SUV also features air inlet grilles and high-gloss black surrounds. On the sides, the overall silhouette will remain the same but it’s expected to get a newly designed alloy wheel design. At the rear, it gets a re-designed bumper with a skid plate and new LED tail lamps with three horizontal block patterns with a new motif.
Moving inside, the SUV gets glossy brown lime wood trim with new upholstery options that include Catalana Beige and Bahia Brown leather. In terms of features, it gets dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and for instrument cluster, five-zone climate control, a 13-speaker Burmester 3D sound system, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, seat kinetics and much more. Talking about safety, it has 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera and ADAS features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, parking assist and much more.
