MG’s EV ecosystem offensive ahead of Windsor electric CUV launch: Initiatives explained

As JSW MG Motor India gears up to launch its third electric vehicle in India dubbed as the Windsor EV, the JV has launched multiple initiatives to support the growing EV ecosystem in India. Besides that, the company which has recently seen 40 percent of its sales coming from EVs, namely the ZS EV and the Comet, plans to install 1,000 community chargers nationwide and partner with over 1,500 startups and 50 colleges to drive EV education and skill development.Here, let’s take a look at the new initiatives, including a unified charging platform, introduced by the company.
eHUB by MG: eHUB is a unified EV charging platform that aims to simplify the charging process across the country. The application, available on both Android and Apple App Store, gives users a seamless experience for locating, reserving, and paying for charging stations through a single platform.
This platform integrates with the majority of the national charging networks through partnerships with providers like Adani Total Energies Limited, BPCL, Chargezone, and others. It supports 11 languages and includes trip-planning features for an enhanced charging experience.

Project REVIVE: In collaboration with TERI, Lohum, and BatX, Project REVIVE focuses on repurposing EV batteries beyond automotive use. This initiative extends the life of EV batteries by using them as renewable energy storage systems for community applications, promoting a circular economy.
EVPEDIA: This is one of the first dedicated education and knowledge platforms for electric cars in India. EVPEDIA provides comprehensive information on EV technology, benefits, costs, and maintenance, helping to debunk myths and foster informed decisions among potential EV buyers.
Beyond explaining EV technology, it will also offer tools like cost of ownership calculators, a repository of government policies, and access to publications and research papers. An AI-powered chatbot, ‘eVir,’ provides users with quick and easy answers to their EV-related questions.
MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP): All upcoming MG cars will feature the MG-Jio ICP as a standard inclusion. This platform includes in-car gaming, learning, and entertainment options, voice commands in six Indian languages, and a Home-to-Car functionality.
