This CUV will be MG’s third electric vehicle in the Indian market, following the successful ZS EV and the compact Comet EV. The teaser video reveals several design highlights, including the dynamic alloy wheel design, sleek LED DRLs, an LED end-to-end LED light bar covering the width of the vehicle, and an illuminated MG logo. Additionally, the teaser also hints at the inclusion of a sunroof and a two-spoke steering wheel.

The model is likely to feature the same 50.3 kWh battery pack as the ZS EV, paired with a front axle-mounted motor producing 176 hp and 280 Nm of torque. Due to its lighter weight, the Cloud EV might offer an enhanced range compared to the ZS EV’s claimed 461 km. However, the company might introduce the global-spec 134 hp, 200 Nm variant with a 37.9 kWh as a low-cost variant with up to 360 km range.
The upcoming Cloud EV, dubbed as an “Intelligent CUV,” aims to attract young buyers with its tall stance, coupe-like roof, and large wheels. It is expected to be competitively priced under Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom, positioning it between the Comet and ZS EV and as a potential rival to the Tata Curvv EV among other competitors such as Nexon EV and XUV400.
