Milk Prices Expected to Decrease Following Monsoon Season

Home Business
Milk prices are expected to decrease after the monsoon season, according to Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy, Parshottam Rupala. The decline in prices is attributed to the decreasing prices of green fodder. Rupala stated that fluctuations in the prices of perishable items like milk are common. He explained that the Wholesale Price Index of fodder has been decreasing, which is a positive sign for stabilizing milk prices. Rupala also mentioned that milk production increases after the monsoon season and during the winter season, leading to a more balanced supply of milk.

In related news, the Karnataka government announced a three rupee increase in the price of their milk brand, Nandini, in order to support farmers. The price of Amul milk in Gujarat was also increased by two rupees per litre in April. Other dairy brands, like Mother Dairy, have also raised prices due to rising input costs and low rainfall.
