Miramonte 54, Clayton Valley Charter 43

Karena Eberts carried Miramonte to victory against DAL opponent Clayton Valley Charter by scoring 30 points in the Matadors’ 54-43 win.

Eberts also hit a milestone in another metric, with coach Vince Worthman noting that the senior forward also grabbed her 1,000th rebound. Robin Parmelee and Maegan Eichenberger each added six points apiece for the Matadors, which improved to 12-8 and 5-0 in league.

Adrianna Surney scored a team-high nine points for Clayton Valley Charter, which dropped to 11-7.  

Salesian 66, Swett 38

Salesian defeated Swett 66-38 to stay unbeaten in Tri-County Athletic League play. Senior point guard Madalyn Kanazawa scored 14 points and had seven assists to go with five steals. Madison Blue had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for Salesian, and nine Salesian players scored overall. Harsukhman Kaur scored a team-high 11 points for Swett, which dropped to 12-7.

Acalanes 77, Alhambra 12

Acalanes kept pace with Miramonte and Mt. Diablo in the Diablo Athletic League by crushing Alhambra 77-12 to improve to 15-4 and 5-0 in league play. 

Ariana Hallstrom led all players with 20 points, and Dulci Vail was right behind her with 19 points. Point guard KK Lacanlale put in 11 points, and sophomore Cameron Thornton joined her teammates in double figures with 10 points. 

Castlemont 65, Head-Royce 43

Michigan Adkins scored a game-high 24 points to lead Castlemont to an easy 65-43 victory over Head-Royce.

Aaliyah Lillard, her senior teammate, scored 20 and hit two 3-pointers for the Knights, which are now 13-4. Junior Morgan Ross scored a team-high 14 points to lead Head-Royce, which is now 7-4. 

Santa Clara 67, Wilcox 34

Mia Talalele, sister of current USC offensive lineman Amos Talalele, had a big game in Santa Clara’s 67-34 victory over crosstown rival Wilcox. 

Talalele scored 23 points, with her coach DeeDee Kiyota noting that the junior is quickly approaching 1,000 career points. Her teammate Nina Llamas led the team in scoring with 26. 

Santa Clara improved to 12-4, while Wilcox dropped to 5-11. 

“Overall the team played well and hit on all cylinders,” Kiyota said. 

Mt. Diablo 60, Las Lomas 28

In a battle of Diablo Athletic League teams, Mt. Diablo got huge contributions from three players to put away Las Lomas 60-28. 

Myka Gutierrez made four 3-pointers to help her reach 13 points, and Natalie Dance scored 20 points while also grabbing six steals. 

Coach Ronnie McGee said Stephanie Zuniga “played lockdown defense” as she blocked two shots to go along with 12 points.

 Mt. Diablo improved to 17-3, while Las Lomas fell to 8-13.  Ariana Cannon led Las Lomas with 15 points.
