Activision is getting ready to release Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. After the early access launch of the campaign earlier this month, Activision will finally make Multiplayer and Zombies available to all users. If you’ve pre-loaded Modern Warfare 3 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, then you can start playing online multiplayer and Zombies at around 5am GMT on November 10.
If you want to ensure you’re ready to play once the servers go live, then you can pre-load the game ahead of launch.
You can even start playing some elements of the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer experience offline in local play.
CharlieIntel explains more: “To play MW3 MP in local play: When you start to connect to servers, back out and get the error message of Connection Failed and hit Go Offline. Works on PlayStation and Xbox.”
While the full game goes live on November 10, the first season won’t kick off until early December.
In the lead up to Season 1, Activision has given players plenty of in-game rewards to unlock.
Vault Edition owners can gain access to the Nemesis Operator Skins and the FATE Weapon Vaults, while beta users can claim their rewards,
Players can also unlock loadout items by reaching level 55 in Multiplayer and Zombies. Likewise, you can level up your favourite weapons and items.
This year’s Call of Duty is said to have one of the “greatest collections of Modern Warfare multiplayer maps”, featuring a selection of new and classic battlegrounds dating back to 2009.
That’s on top of additional maps for Ground War, Invasion and War, plus a huge Zombies open-world.
Activision explains more: “All 16 launch maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009) have been modernised with new modes and gameplay features and will be available at launch to get everyone started, while over 12 new core 6v6 maps will fuel post-launch live seasons.
Classic maps include Afghan, Derail, Estate, Favela, Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Quarry, Rundown, Rust, Scrapyard, Skidrow, Sub Base, Terminal, Underpass, and Wasteland.
In addition to the 16 core launch maps, Modern Warfare 3 will launch with four huge environments containing a “host of new play spaces”.
This includes three new Battle Maps that will be used for the game’s Ground War and Invasion modes, plus “one War map that will support the epic return and evolution of the popular War Mode that first debuted in Call of Duty: WWll (2017)”.
