BMW is set to launch the new-gen 2024 5 Series in India tomorrow.This long-wheelbase version will lock horns against the Mercedes E-Class LWB. The sedan features an illuminated kidney grille, sleek headlights, and angular bumpers. It offers 18-inch and 19-inch wheel options, a sloping roofline, and a sporty rear. Inside, it gets a 14.9-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, four-zone climate control, ambient lighting and more.

Powering the 530Li M Sport, which will be the sole variant on offer in India, is a 2-litre twin-turbo petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing 208 hp and 330 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Besides this, the German carmaker will also introduce the updated Mini Cooper S and the electric iteration of the Mini Countryman.
Mahindra Thar Roxx
Mahindra is finally set to launch the much-awaited 5-door Thar Roxx in India on August 15, 2024, adding a practical variant to the lineup. The Thar Roxx teaser reveals a rugged design with a new six vertically-stacked double slat grille, LED projector headlamps with C-shaped DRLs, sleeker fog lights, and new diamond-cut alloy wheels. Leaked photos show vertically-stacked rear door handles and ORVM cameras, hinting at a 360-degree surround-view system. The Thar Roxx will offer three engine options: 2.0-litre turbo petrol, 2.2-litre diesel, and a new 1.5-litre diesel, with both manual and automatic transmissions, rear-wheel drive and a 4WD setup.
Nissan X-Trail
Nissan is bringing the X-Trail SUV back to India, set to launch soon. Discontinued in 2014, the X-Trail is making a comeback after 10 years to compete. Based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-C platform, the India-bound three-row version features split LED headlights, a large grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED taillights. Inside, it offers two-tone black and tan leatherette interior, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, a powered tailgate, heated front seats with memory, a Bose 10-speaker system, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, HUD display, ADAS, and a 360-degree camera.
It will be powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 163 hp and 300 Nm torque, it includes a 12V mild-hybrid system and CVT gearbox.
Citroen Basalt
French carmaker Citroen is set to debut its coupe SUV, Basalt, in the first half of August. Based on the Citroen C3 Aircross, the Basalt features a sleek, coupe-like roofline, a two-slat chrome grille, silver skid plate, sleek LED headlights, dual-tone alloy wheels, an integrated rear spoiler, and wraparound LED tail lights. It is expected to have a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing around 110 hp and 205 Nm of torque, with manual or automatic transmission options. Interior features may include a 10.2-inch touchscreen, digital driver’s display, six airbags, wireless charging, automatic climate control, and push-button start.
Lamborghini Urus SE
Lamborghini is set to launch the much-anticipated Urus SE, a plug-in hybrid variant of its popular SUV, in India on August 9. The Urus SE features a refreshed design with a new bumper, grille, slimmer LED headlights, and a floating hood. It rides on new 23-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres, and offers over 100 colour options.
Inside, it boasts a redesigned dashboard with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, redesigned air vents, and a 12.3-inch driver’s display. The Urus SE is powered by a hybrid system with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine and an electric motor, delivering 788 hp and 950 Nm of torque, and includes a 25.9-kWh battery allowing over 60 km in electric mode. The hybrid powertrain features four new Electric Performance Strategies, adding to the existing six driving modes.
