Although she has been a part of films like, ‘Gold’, ‘RAW’ and ‘Made In China’, it is Ayan Mukerji‘s ‘Brahmastra’ which changed the course of her career. In an interview with Indian Express, Mouni revealed that Brahmastrawas absolutely different.In Gold, RAW and Made In China, she has played very Indianised characters. According to her, after ‘Naagin’ and ‘Sati‘, people could only see her as a ‘saree-clad Indian character’. She also expressed her gratitude towards Milan Luthria for thinking of her as this cabaret dancer Nayantara in his series ‘Sultan of Delhi‘, at a time when Brahmastra had not even been released.
Elaborating further, Mouni added that it is an exciting time to be an actor where makers can visualise you in different roles. According to her, great parts are being written and she really feels fortunate to be offered those parts and to be able to play them on screen.
Mouni also went on to say that it is not just one project, but her dedicated work from the past 16 years that has started to bore fruit for her in her career. According to her, she has never stopped and it has taught her everything she needs to learn in her journey. She also believes that when you keep working, somebody will see you somewhere, think of you in a certain character or role.
On the work front, Mouni revealed that she has some very interesting line-up of projects in her kitty. However, she cannot talk about them before they are officially announced by the makers.
