NEW DELHI: Isro on Saturday released a video for the upcoming National Space Day just as the Central government also announced a slew of activities ahead of the first celebration to honour the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission that helped India go down in history as the first country to land on the south pole of the moon.
Isro shared an informative video related to National Space Day on the social media platform X, touching upon the type of launchers.The video, titled ‘National Space Day – 2024, A special video on Bharat’s Space Launch Arsenal’, used engaging graphics to boast all the space toys that the organisation possess.

It also showed the height and weight comparison of these launched vehicles to those of humans and elephants respectively, which not only left people awe-struck but also intrigued them. From India’s first successful experimental launch space vehicle, SLV-3, to the proposed vehicle for India’s first human space mission, HLVM-3, it covers the evolution of launch vehicle technology Isro has developed in all these years for various purposes.
At the end of the video, Isro posed a question about how many successful missions it had launched till now and asked the people to answer in comments.
India is set to celebrate its first National Space Day this year and it has been themed as “Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga.”, an effort aimed to celebrate the achievement of India’s Chandrayaan Mission. To celebrate this day, a myriad of events are expected to be held and culminate into the main event on August 22-23 in New Delhi.
