Last night in Paris, a glamorous crowd gathered for the global launch of Vêtir, an innovative luxury shopping app. After days of rain, golden light soaked the Place de la Concorde. The clear skies were tinged pink and yellow. Inside the stately Café Lapérouse, attendees sipped Champagne, swapped Fashion Week schedules, and tested out Vêtir for themselves.
Founded by Kate Davidson Hudson—an alum of Elle and Harper’s Bazaar, co-founder of the Editorialist, and chief development office of LuisaViaRoma and and editorial chief of LVR Magazine—Vêtir brings together the entire ecosystem of luxury e-commerce into a single app. The omnichannel shopping—as well as AI-assisted styling, 360-degree customer profiles, video conferencing, and more—creates a smoother digital shopping experience than any other previously available.
“The industry has been largely fragmented across different selling channels,” Hudson says. “With Vêtir, the opportunities are truly limitless.”
The event cohosted by Vogue100 attracted a cast of creative and influential characters. Ashley Graham, radiant in violet velvet, electrified the room with her distinctive laugh and famous smile. New York-based designers Rebecca Hessel Cohen of LoveShackFancy, Alexandra O’Neill of Markarian, and Alejandra Alonso Rojas of her eponymous brand chatted with editors like Vanity Fair’s Nicole Chapoteau. Nigerian actress Temi Otedola oozed the mystery of a film noir femme fatale in a floor-length black coat, tightly cinched with the lacy hint of a negligee peeking out beneath. Model Brooks Nader showed off a sultry dress by Ronny Kobo, who held court a few feet away. Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell of Tanner Fletcher spoke of plans to head to London, where their collection is newly stocked at Selfridges. Jewelry designer David Farrugia of Uniform Object attracted attention for his layered chains.
The platform is tailored to meet the needs of the world’s most discerning clients, including ultra-high net worth individuals and the most ogled tastemakers. Many of the revelers at Lapérouse (supermodels, couture collectors, top editors, and the like) require a high-touch and hyper-organized approach to wardrobe management. Vêtir provides them with that and more. Brand integration and stylist initiation are by invitation only.
As Hudson— advisor and fellow industry veteran, Priya Shukla, beside her—surveyed the room, the crowd’s excitement made it clear that Vêtir is here to stay.
