However, the Ferrari Purosangue could provide a perfect compromise for officers seeking performance and practicality. Our unofficial renderings showcase what the Purosangue would look like if it were to join the Italian State Police, and it appears ready for duty.
The SUV’s 16.7 cubic feet of trunk space could easily accommodate the officer’s gear. The passenger-side screen could be repurposed for police use. Additionally, the back seats could carry extra officers or suspects if needed, which is something the Roma Spider cannot do.

If the Italian police have not yet placed their order, they may have to wait as initial demand for the Purosangue was extremely high, prompting Ferrari to temporarily halt orders after its debut. The V12 SUV is now available for sale again, but the company announced in May that it will prioritize building the orders it has received through 2025.
This is expected to boost sales, which had already seen a nearly 10 percent increase in the first quarter of 2023. The new Purosangue and Roma Spider models are contributing to this growth, with three more vehicles set to launch before the year ends. However, the details of these upcoming models remain a mystery.
While awaiting the arrival of these new models, Ferrari will focus on the Purosangue and the rest of its lineup. The new Ferrari, launched in September 2022, is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine. It boasts 715 horsepower, 528 pound-feet of torque, and can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 192 mph. The all-wheel drive system makes the Ferrari capable of handling various driving conditions and roads, which may prove challenging for other supercars.
Addition of a Ferrari to the police fleet would not be the first time supercars have been utilized by law enforcement. In 2014, Lamborghini gifted the Italian State Police with a Huracan, and it subsequently gifted them another one in 2017. These vehicles have been used by the agency to transport organs and blood to patients across Italy, demonstrating that even seemingly impractical supercars do serve a purpose in police fleets.
