Aaron Taylor-Johnson details Brad Pitt fight scene in Bullet Train

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has become one of the most popular and prolific British actors in this day and age.

So then, it’s no wonder that he has been placed as the favourite to take over as the next James Bond from Daniel Craig – following the release of No Time To Die.

The new report claimed a source said of Taylor-Johnson: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back. As far as EON is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.

As a result, betting agents such as Coral have suspended betting on Taylor-Johnson as the new 007. The bookies’ John Hill said: “We have pulled the plug on our next James Bond betting to let the dust settle. If reports are to be believed, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who has been our favourite for the last 12 months, could be set to replace Daniel Craig.”

Whether or not Taylor-Johnson has been hired as James Bond, you can still see him in action right now in one of his various action-packed movies – and we’ve collated all of his best entries you can enjoy right now.

Bullet Train

If there was just one film used as a CV for Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s rumoured James Bond audition: It should have been Bullet Train.

In the picture, the Brit plays a hitman who has been hired to retrieve a briefcase from Brad Pitt’s character. While that may sound simple, Taylor-Johnson’s charm and physicality in the role make him stand out among a picture of A-listers.

Despite being opposite such names as the aforementioned Pitt, Joey King, Logan Lerman and Brian Tyree Henry, Taylor-Johnson was the star of the picture – and it’s a damn good movie, as well.

Bullet Train is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video right now. Click here to start watching.

The picture won Best British Film at the 2011 Empire Awards, and set a young Taylor-Johnson on a course for success over the following years.

Nowhere Boy

Directed by his now-wife, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Nowhere Boy brought the story of John Lennon (of The Beatles) to the big screen for the first time.

Taylor-Johnson played the member of the Fab Four, in one of his first standout roles. Taking on the role of the Liverpudlian legend, viewers watched him form The Beatles as a rebellious teenager obsessed with Elvis Presley.

While not exactly perfect in terms of historical accuracy, it’s certainly an exciting trip down memory lane.

Taylor-Johnson made a surprise appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Pietro Maximoff, but reprised his role as a main character in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

As the brother of Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Taylor-Johnson utilised Quicksilver’s superspeed to (at first) take on the Avengers while helping out the malevolent AI Ultron.

Unfortunately, Taylor-Johnson’s role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was short-lived. So soak up all you can using Disney Plus.
