Nissan X-Trail launched in India at Rs 49.92 lakh: What the Fortuner, Tucson, Kodiaq rival offers

Nissan India today finally announced the launch of the Nissan X-Trail SUV in the Indian market. The SUV is being brought here as a full import from Japan and is priced at Rs 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings for the SUV are already underway, interested customers can book it online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The booking amount is set at Rs 1 lakh and deliveries are expected to begin soon.

The X-Trail is available in a single variant and three colour options – Champagne silver, Pearl white and Diamond black.The company is offering a 3-year/ 1 lakh km warranty as standard with the X-Trail, along with three years of free roadside assistance. The X-Trail is making a comeback to the Indian market after 10 years and goes up against Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Tucson, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and VW Tiguan.
First let’s talk about the engine, engine, the SUV gets a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 163 hp of power and 300 nm torque. The engine features a variable compression ratio with a 12V mild-hybrid system. It comes paired with a CVT gearbox which sends power to front wheels and this engine is also the world’s 1st production Variable Compression Turbo engine.

The Nissan X-Trail is based on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-C platform jointly developed by Nissan and Renault. In terms of design, it features a split LED headlight setup with a large grille. It has 20-inch alloy wheels and will also feature LED taillights with an integrated spoiler and diffuser.
The SUV features a two-tone black and tan leatherette, with silver accents all around. Features will include a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, powered front seats with memory function, a 10-speaker premium Bose surround sound system, panoramic sunroof, fully digital instrument cluster, HUD display, ADAS, 360-degree camera and more.
