Stepping into the spring and summer seasons requires a good pair of shoes. Thus, on Thursday afternoon, Rickie De Sole and Marina Larroudé hosted an intimate luncheon to commemorate Nordstrom’s partnership with Larroudé, featuring an exclusive collection for the retailer’s “Make Room for Shoes” campaign.
For over 120 years, Nordstrom has boasted a repertoire of unmatched shoe offerings since it opened its first store in 1901 as a shoe company in Seattle. Today, with their “Make Room for Shoes” campaign, the retailer has teamed up with Larroudé to introduce a capsule collection featuring six exclusive styles sold across 93 stores nationwide.
“I see so much of you in this capsule collection,” De Sole tells Larroudé in her speech. “It’s joyful, it’s beautiful, and it perfectly captures the spirit of spring.” The capsule, named the Hibiscus collection, was inspired by Larroudé’s summer memories in Brazil, designed to elicit feelings of spring romance and beachside bliss. “This collection is for the vibrant, spirited woman who loves to celebrate life,” said Larroudé. “Each piece resonates with the warmth and vibrancy of my homeland.”
At half past twelve in the afternoon, guests made their way to a secluded area of the inside the Italian bistro where they were welcomed with rounds of bubbly before taking their seats. Pink peonies were spread across the table along with orchid-shaped napkin holders and green glassware, keeping true to the collection’s theme.
Attendees, most of whom were sporting the collection’s six eclectic styles, enjoyed bowls of spicy rigatoni and cacio e pepe before diving into a sweet indulgence of lemon doughnuts and mango sorbet. Naturally, to ward off a sugar crash, attendees fueled up with a shot (or two) of espresso before going about their Thursday afternoons.
