NSW COVID-19 exposure sites: 27 new venues added including Woolworths supermarket and Bunnings
Another 27 exposure sites have been added to NSW Health’s list of venues exposed to COVID-19, as residents anxiously wait to find out if tough new restrictions are having an impact on cases.
Greater Sydney’s lockdown, now in its fourth week, is slated to finish at the end of the month.
But with at least 60 of the new cases circulating in the community for part or all of their infectious period, and case numbers up markedly from 78 the day before, Premier Gladys Berejiklian looks likely to prolong the stay-at-home orders.
“That is a high number but a number which reflects the high amount of testing that we had,” Berejiklian acknowledged on Wednesday.
“The simple message is this is really serious.”
There was a record number of tests – 83,477 – conducted in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday.
Some of the new exposure sites include supermarkets, a Bunnings and an Australia Post store.
Anyone who attended these locations at the times listed is a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result.
