It marked just the seventh instance in the history of the men’s ODI World Cup when both opening batsmen were dismissed without scoring a run.

The last time of both Indian openers being dismissed for a duck in a men’s ODI took place during the 2004 VB series against Zimbabwe.
In the first over, left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc delivered a crucial blow by dismissing Ishan Kishan for a duck. Kishan’s attempted slash resulted in a catch at slip.

Earlier in the innings, Ravindra Jadeja’s exceptional performance yielded three wickets, contributing significantly to the Australian side’s dismissal for 199 in 49.3 overs, following their decision to bat first.
