As per reports he was battling prostate cancer, one of the most common cancers among men, arises in the prostate gland, a vital part of the male reproductive system. While often slow-growing and treatable, it can also be aggressive and deadly if left unchecked. Symptoms may include urinary issues, pain, or blood in the urine.
Prostate cancer risk factors include age, with incidence rising after 50. Family history plays a role; those with close relatives diagnosed have an elevated risk. Genetic mutations like BRCA1 and BRCA2 may increase susceptibility. Lifestyle factors such as a high-fat diet, obesity, and lack of physical activity also contribute. Exposure to certain chemicals or pesticides might heighten risk, though evidence is inconclusive.
Early detection through screening tests like PSA tests and digital rectal exams is crucial for timely intervention. Treatment options vary from active surveillance to surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or hormone therapy, depending on the cancer’s stage and individual health factors. Awareness, regular check-ups, and proactive health management are key to combating prostate cancer.
