One member of the San Francisco 49ers enjoyed getting the last laugh in against Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf – in American Sign Language (ASL), like Metcalf has been doing after touchdowns.
Niners long snapper Taybor Pepper posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, after the 49ers’ 28-16 win on Sunday, showing him sending Metcalf a message in ASL.

He did it again after scoring against the Niners in the first quarter on Sunday, too, with a reporter from The Athletic saying Metcalf’s message was, “My little dog, woof.”
But that score was, in effect, the only big moment of an otherwise frustrating game for Metcalf as 49ers held him without a catch in the final three quarters.

Metcalf also got himself ejected for engaging in a post-interception scuffle, getting in a shoving match with Fred Warner before grabbing Warner’s facemask. 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was also ejected.
Clearly, the back-and-forth chatter between the NFC West rivals that has grown over the last two years had Pepper prepared for a postgame quip. While it isn’t clear if Pepper knows ASL or just learned how to do this specific message for Metcalf, it is being welcomed by 49ers fans either way.
