A royal expert claims that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s son is going to be removed from the public eye after he was criticized on social media this past weekend while watching the Euro 2020 final.

Robert Jobson, who co-authored Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, told Austrailia’s Sunrise TV show  that the young prince was mocked for what he wore while watching Sunday’s match in the V.I.P. box at Wembley Stadium.

“With George, he got quite a lot of social media attention. Some were critical about him wearing a shirt and tie like his dad, which I thought was very harsh,” said Jobson.

“He has been very popular, but I think they are going to try and keep him out of the limelight a little bit,” opined the biographer, adding that his parents are “very conscious” of how he’s presented to the world.

“The pictures were great with his dad when he was celebrating for that all too brief moment,” Jobson added.

But there were some not-so-great people who reportedly made fun of George, who turns eight on July 22.

One tweet showing photos of George earned a rude comment from one hater, saying, “Hahahahahaahahahaha hope the little twerp cries into his tie.”

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

Another tweet read, “Someone needs to bully this kid. Just so he can grow up normal.”

Former tennis star Marion Bartoli claimed William wanted to wear a jersey to the match, but Kate wasn’t a fan.

“Yesterday, I had an afternoon tea with the Duchess, and it was very much a discussion whether George will be allowed to wear the jersey tonight at Wembley or not,” Bartoli told BBC’s  Radio 5 Live the day before the final between England and Italy.

“William was for it, Kate not so keen, so we’ll see.”

There you have it. Blame Kate.
