Now, he has decided to come back to OpenAI as its CEO and his decision has been warmly welcomed by the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella. Sam Altman Returns As OpenAI CEO Days After Being Fired
As mentioned earlier, Sam Altman, who was fired from OpenAI for ‘inconsistencies in communication’ with the Board of the company, has returned as OpenAI CEO today, on November 22. Today, Sam Altman has confirmed rejoining OpenAI and has said, “I love OpenAI, and everything I’ve done over the past few days has been in service of keeping this team and its mission together. When I decided to join Microsoft on Sunday evening, it was clear that was the best path for me and the team. With the new board and with Satya’s support, I’m looking forward to returning to OpenAI, and building on our strong partnership with Microsoft.”

OpenAI has also shared a post on the social media platform ‘X’ and has also mentioned the members of the Board along with the information that they have reached an ‘agreement in principle’.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Reacts
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who had hired Sam Altman for his new AI Research Team, has also reacted to the latter’s decision of rejoining OpenAI as its CEO. The Microsoft CEO is ‘encouraged by the changes to the OpenAI board’ and that he has had a chat with Sam Altman and Greg Brockman.
