OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, may soon offer its subscribers the ability to make their own ChatGPT chatbots. According to the screenshots and videos shared by The Decoder, a custom chatbot creator will allow users to build their own chatbots based on the GPT-4 model.
A user named Choi posted a summary of the rumoured updates a few days ago on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).Recently, Tibor Blaho, an SEO tools developer, shared a video of the feature in action, showing a GPT Builder option that lets users enter a prompt to create a chatbot. An example prompt reads, “make a creative who helps generate visuals for new products.”
How the OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot maker would work
The chatbot creator has many of the same features already available in ChatGPT using GPT-4. These features include web browsing and data analysis.
The “Create” tab in the chatbot creator offers several options to customise your bot’s default language, tone, and writing style. The “Configure” tab seems to allow users to name and describe your bot, as well as provide instructions on what it should or should not do. You can also upload files to create a knowledge base and enable features like web browsing and image generation. Additionally, there’s a box where the users can add custom actions to the chatbot. Then, there’s a “Preview pane” with a prompt box that allows users to test their bot as they edit it.
OpenAI is also planning to launch a new marketplace where users can share their chatbots or browse those made by others.
Asides the chatbot creator, OpenAI is reportedly planning to introduce an enterprise subscription plan called “Team.” The Team plan will have flexible and annual options, and includes unlimited access to high-speed GPT-4 and four times longer context. The plan will be priced at $25 per user per month, with a three-user minimum. Additionally, there will be a non-annual option available for $30 per month.
