Fans were in floods of tears at Glastonbury Festival after hearing soul songstress Paloma Faith’s tribute to the late Amy Winehouse. It’s been 13 years since she joined the 27 Club and she is still sorely missed, prompting Paloma to shout out: “Love you Amy, you’re here in spirit!”

She then launched into an emotional performance Back to Black, before bowing and declaring: “God, I love you!” in a spiritual display on the Pyramid Stage this afternoon. However, it comes just days after she was forced to cancel a show due to “voice issues” and exhaustion, sparking concerns for her welfare.

One fan took to Twitter to shower the app with teary-eyed emojis as she confessed: “Paloma singing Back to Black for Amy – I’m sobbing, that was everything!” “C’mon cry on the dancefloor #palomafaith f*****g banger!” another exclaimed.

“#PalomaFaith should get a hella more love!! An incredible voice & such a kooky woman rocking the Pyramid Stage, adored her for years & her Amy Winehouse dedication,” chimed in a third. “I’ve a massive soft spot for #PalomaFaith. Great performance!” echoed a fourth.

However, behind the scenes, the Only Love Hurts Like This singer has been battling with her health. She was forced to cancel a planned performance on Sunday, citing “Illnesses” that had impacted her voice.

Taking to Twitter to explain why her June 30 gig in Southampton had been culled at the last minute, she said: “I’m incredibly upset and disappointed to announce that I need to cancel my show…

“After suffering from exhaustion and catching various illnesses from my kids, my voice has been severely affected and my range is compromised.

“I have sought advice from medical professionals, they have advised that I need to rest my voice and that means I’ve had to cancel tonight’s show.”

She added: “I’m so sorry to everyone who bought tickets, I’ve loved being on the road and seeing all your gorgeous faces and I’m gutted I won’t be dancing with you tonight.”

Fortunately, her Glastonbury performance went ahead and she is expected to continue her planned tour across the UK next week, including a July 3 show at London’s Eventim Apollo.

Paloma seemed to be returning to her usual feisty self as she made her grand entrance at Glastonbury earlier today and made a passionate speech against the “patriarchy”.

The songstress, who has suffered relationship woes in the past, admitted that she is struggling with the concept of dating apps, which she compared to the “Wild West”.

“People don’t really know how to connect anymore,” she lamented, before advising couples: “Try and stay together, but it’s the resentment that’s the problem.”

Meanwhile, Shania Twain also belted out a performance in the Legends slot today, despite fans’ fears that her performance had been marred by technical issues.
