Pedestrian in Critical Condition Following Car Collision in Kogarah, Sydney

A pedestrian fighting for life after being hit by a car in Sydney’s southwest has been identified as a 70-year-old woman.

NSW Police say the woman suffered head injuries when she was struck by a Mazda 6 sedan just after 5am on Wednesday on the Princes Hwy at Kogarah.

Paramedics treated the woman, from Kogarah, at the intersection of Harrow Rd and the Princes Hwy about 5.15am.

She was then taken to St George Hospital where she remained on Thursday in a critical condition with head and pelvic injuries.

The 45-year-old female Mazda driver escaped injury and was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing.


Paramedics treated the woman for head injuries before taking her to hospital in a serious condition.

The Crash Investigation Unit is continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. No charges have been laid.
