Possible 3D-Printed Components Expected in Apple Watch Ultra 2023, Predicts Ming-Chi Kuo

According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, there are rumors that Apple may launch the second generation of Apple Watch Ultra later this year. Kuo also mentioned that Apple may be incorporating 3D printing technology into the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Kuo’s survey indicates that Apple will use 3D printing to manufacture some of the titanium mechanical parts of the new Apple Watch Ultra. These parts may include the digital crown, side button, and action button. Currently, mechanical parts made through 3D printing have to undergo the CNC process for back-end processes. IPG Photonics is the exclusive supplier of laser components, while Farsoon and BLT will be the printer suppliers for the 3D-printed mechanical parts of the 2023 Apple Watch Ultra. Kuo believes that if shipments go well, more Apple products will adopt 3D printing technology, which will benefit the production cost and ESG performance in Apple’s supply chain.
