But it seems like Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan’s fourth position is in jeopardy as Kalki 2898 AD needs just another Rs 55 lakh to displace King Khan’s biggest film, which earned lifetime business of Rs 640.25 crore.
Kalki 2898 AD minted Rs 414.85 crore in the first week, followed by Rs 128.5 crore in the second week, Rs 56.1 crore in the third week, Rs 24.4 in the fourth week and Rs 12.1 crore in the fifth week. As the film entered the sixth week, Kalki 2898 AD embarked on its final leg at the box office. On Friday, the film earned just Rs 65 lakh, on Saturday it saw a jump of over 100 percent and collected Rs 1.35 crore and the Sunday collection was Rs 1.85 crore. The overall business of Kalki 2898 AD stands at Rs 639.70 crore.
Jawan’s theatrical run came to an end in the 8th week, while Kalki 2898 AD has just entered its sixth week and still has a few weeks to go before it ends its theatrical release. Kalki 2898 AD still has a clear window of nearly 10 days with Deadpool & Wolverine being the only competition. However with the arrival of August 15, Kalki 2898 AD will have to make way for three more films – Stree 2, Vedaa aad Khel Khel Mein.
Kalki 2898 AD was led by Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone with guest appearances by SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Varma, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur.
