Pre Diwali prep up for skin and hair

As Diwali, the festival of lights, approaches, the air is filled with anticipation and excitement. It’s a time for celebration, family gatherings, and spreading joy. While we prepare to light up our homes, it’s equally important to illuminate our skin and hair, ensuring that you look your radiant best for the festivities.
As a cosmetologist and a festival-lover, I understand the significance of feeling and looking your best during Diwali.
Here are some expert tips to get your skin and hair prepped for the big day:

Some remedies for brilliant skin that glows like Diwali lights are very simple.
Try massaging raw milk and lemon on your skin for a few minutes. And mix honey and papaya, mash it up and apply it as a mask for dewy, soft skin.
Rosewater is a great toner/prep before your regular skincare routine or even before makeup. For shiny, luxurious hair, try a coconut and castor oil hair mask, or even good old champi to really get circulation to your roots.
Vitamin E is frizzy hair’s best friend. It can tame any amount of frizz. Other than natural remedies, some other important skincare secrets to keep in mind are- for oily and acne prone skin, use salicylic and glycolic acid cleansers.
Follow it with a Kaolin mask, alcohol free toner, and lightweight moisturizer and sunscreen with at least 30-50 spf. Ensure all your products are very light and non comedogenic.

How to choose the right Diwali outfit

Take care of your dandruff when prone to acne, it can cause breakouts on your forehead. Avoid steam on your face, especially during winters. It can dry the skin out, leading to further acne. The use of ice on skin isn’t very beneficial, the most it can do is tighten your skin and pores temporarily, but it has no continuous benefits. It can, however, improve circulation.
For ageing skin, use retinol regularly. Hyaluronic acid can be extremely beneficial for ageing skin as it hydrates and cleanses internally. Carrying your skincare routine when you are travelling is very important so you do not break out.
