The brand is reportedly working on a replacement for the MG 3, which is over a decade old. The brand will continue to offer a small hatch within its lineup as a value option with a seven-year warranty. As of June, MG has sold 8449 examples of the MG 3, which holds a 37% share of its segment. The 2023 MG 3 is available only with a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 82kW of power and 150Nm of torque, mated exclusively to a four-speed automatic transmission. The MG 3’s total luggage space is 307L, increasing to a maximum of 1081L with the rear seats folded. The 2023 MG 3 is backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometer warranty and servicing is required every 12 months or 100,000km. The MG 3 lacks active safety features such as autonomous emergency braking and has never been crash-tested by ANCAP. The Core trim level includes features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, reversing camera, and more. The Excite trim level adds additional features such as satellite navigation.
