PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are awaiting the official reveal of the next wave of PS4, PS5 and classic games for April 2024. And the good news is that there isn’t long to wait, because the PS Plus Extra and Premium titles will be unveiled by Sony at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of April 10. The games will be playable the following week, at around midday on April 16. Unlike previous months, Sony has already announced some of the games ahead of schedule. The new games include the superb Dave the Diver, which has been making waves on PC and Nintendo Switch. A day-one release for PS Plus Extra, Dave the Diver is a unique game in which you own and operate a sushi restaurant. The twist, however, is that you’ll need to dive in order to catch your own fish.
It may not sound like the stuff of legends, but Dave the Diver has built up a massive fanbase since launch, with people praising its relaxing gameplay and surprising amount of depth.
Another game coming to PS Plus Extra in April is Tales of Kenzera: Zau, which is another day-one PS Plus release.
Launching a week after the rest of the line-up (on April 23), Tales of Kenzera: Zau is described as a “2.5D story-driven, action-exploration game” about facing emotions and dealing with loss.
“A grieving boy begins to read a Bantu tale written by his late father. Adventure into the beautiful and treacherous lands of Kenzera as Zau, a young shaman who bargains with the God of death to bring his Baba back from darkness.”
Of course, with the rest of the line-up shrouded in mystery, subscribers have been attempting to predict the remaining games on Reddit.
In the monthly predictions thread, multiple people believe Sonic Frontiers will finally earn a spot in the PS Plus Extra line-up.
Despite a lukewarm response when it was originally announced, the 3D Sonic game was a surprise hit when it launched in 2022.
Other games with multiple picks include Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, as well as Dead Island 2, Hades and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is also on the predictions list, not to mention Chained Echoes and Blasphemous 2.
