Raiders centre Curtis Scott is facing a three match ban and a $15,000 fine after the NRL hit him with a breach notice following his alleged involvement in a nightclub altercation.

Scott was stood down by the Raiders last month after footage emerged of an incident during a night out at a Canberra venue in late May.

Following an investigation by the NRL’s Integrity Unit, a sanction for the star centre was released this afternoon.

“The National Rugby League (NRL) has issued Canberra Raiders player Curtis Scott with a breach notice alleging he brought the game into disrepute during an incident at a venue in Canberra on May 30,” the statement read.

“The breach notice proposes Scott be suspended for 3 matches and fined $15,000.

“Scott has been stood down by the Raiders club since Round 14 and that time served will count towards his NRL suspension.

“Scott has been advised that an existing $15,000 suspended fine will also be activated if this new breach notice is confirmed by the NRL.”

Scott has five working days to respond to the breach notice.

Scott cleared to play NRL

The 23-year-old is in his second season at the Raiders, having joined the club from Melbourne.

Scott last year was involved in an incident with police, in which the Raiders centre was handcuffed, tasered and capsicum sprayed after being found asleep under a tree on the Australia Day weekend.

He is seeking compensation from police over the incident.
