New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress government in Rajasthan, led by Ashok Gehlot, during a rally in Bikaner, calling it a “shop of plunder” and a “market of lies.” The BJP is focusing on crime and corruption as the central theme of its campaign in the state and has planned the ‘Nahi Sahega Rajasthan’ campaign, which will be launched by BJP president JP Nadda on 16 July, to strengthen its narrative on corruption and crime. The party aims to replicate the success it had in Karnataka, where corruption allegations against the BJP helped the Congress win. The BJP is also targeting law and order, similar to its strategy in Uttar Pradesh, with special focus on women and Dalit voters. The party is organizing various activities such as FIR camps, public hearings, utensil banging protests, and bike rallies to build momentum for its campaign. The slogan “Nahi Sahega Rajasthan” is being used to highlight the party’s stance against crime, corruption, and appeasement, which it claims are widespread under the Gehlot government. The recent killing of murder-accused Kuldeep Jagheena while in police custody has provided additional ammunition for the BJP to criticize the lawlessness in Rajasthan. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje immediately held the Gehlot government accountable for the incident. The BJP is introducing initiatives such as FIR camps and public hearing courts to highlight systemic failures and appeal to voters. These initiatives aim to address corruption and crimes against women and help establish a strong narrative for the party. Protests and outreach activities targeting women voters are also being conducted. The BJP is leveraging the issues of corruption and rising unemployment to attract the youth vote. Campaign rallies and protests have been planned to raise awareness about paper leak scams and demand action against corruption. The BJP is organizing rallies for unemployed youth in every district and two major protests in Jaipur against crime and corruption.
