JLR introduced the new Range Rover and new Range Rover Sport in the second half of FY23 at a starting price of Rs 2.38 crore and Rs 1.64 crore (both prices, ex-showroom), respectively. The order-book demand for Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender continues to be strong with contribution of 88% in Q1 Fy24 as opposed to the corresponding period previous year. According to the official statement, current order book of the Defender covers over six months of sales and is constantly seeing an Month-on-Month (MoM) increase.
Talking about the engine specs of the Range Rover Sport, it is equipped with a 3.0-litre petrol mild-hybrid straight-six and a 3.0-litre diesel mild-hybrid straight-six engine options. The P400 petrol variant generates a peak power of 400 hp and a max torque of 550 Nm, while the D350 diesel trim churns out a peak power of 350 hp and a max torque of 700 Nm. Both engines come mated with an eight-speed torque-convertor automatic gearbox, along with air suspension and 4WD.
Additionally, JLR certified pre-owned business grew by 137 percent in Q1 FY24 across the country.

In other news development, the company recently commenced the bookings of the Range Rover Velar in the Indian market. The SUV will receive minor exterior and interior changes, and new technology features. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by two engine options – a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel.
