Residential Energy Products Revealed by GM, Offered in Conjunction with EVs

GM Energy, the energy company launched by GM, has announced its first range of energy management products under its residential business unit, Ultium Home. The products include batteries, charging equipment, solar panels, and software for both residential and commercial customers. The Ultium Home product bundles consist of two kits designed for GM electric vehicle (EV) owners to utilize bidirectional charging capabilities, and a third kit for those without an electric GM vehicle. The kits include GM’s PowerShift Charger, V2H Enablement Kit, and PowerBank storage unit. Customers can also integrate solar energy solutions with Ultium Home products through SunPower, GM Energy’s exclusive solar provider. The Ultium Home products can be managed through GM’s Energy Cloud. However, the ability to sell stored energy back to utilities is not included in this announcement but may be available in the future. The pricing and release timeline for the Ultium Home product bundles may vary.
