Karsan Ghavri reckoned it is time to drop Kohli down to No. 3 and get left-handed Yashasvi Jaiswal in the playing XI.
Barbados: With couple of days still left for the much-awaited India versus Afghanistan T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight match at Barbados, speculations are rife over Virat Kohli’s batting position after three failures with the bat. All Kohli has mustered in three outings is five runs and hence the concern. In an exclusive chat with former India cricketer Karsan Ghavri on India.com, the legend reckoned it is time to drop Kohli down to No. 3 and get left-handed Yashasvi Jaiswal in the playing XI.
“I feel Jaiswal should open with Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli can easily drop down to No. 3. In that scenario, Shivam Dube sits out. This will provide the ideal balance,” said Ghavri, who played 39 Tests for India.
Ghavri went on to suggest another change that can be incorporated. As per Ghavri, Kuldeep Yadav should find a spot in place of Axar Patel.
“Another change I would want to see is the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav in for Axar Patel,” Ghavri added.
