Powering the updated Royal Enfield Himalayan is brand-new 452 cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine producing 39.5 hp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist & slipper clutch. This makes it Royal Enfield’s most advanced engine yet.
Suspension setup consists of 43 mm USD forks at the front with 200 mm travel, coupled with a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the back, also offering 200 mm travel. Braking is taken care of by a 320 mm single disc up front and a 270 mm disc at the back. The adventure touring motorcycle tips the scale at 196 kg and boasts a 17-litre fuel tank. It runs on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, shod on dual-purpose tyres.
On the feature front, the new RE Himalayan gets a 4-inch circular TFT instrument cluster with integrated Google Maps, switchable rear ABS, riding modes, LED lighting all around, dual-purpose rear tail lights that also serve as the turn indicators, spoked wheels, a height adjustable front seat, ride-by-wire and more.
