Around 13 years ago, Sohail Khan had announced that he’s set to direct a film with Salman Khan and Kapil Sharma which will be larger-than-life. The film was titled ‘Sher Khan‘ and was touted to be a jungle adventure dilm with heavy VFX. Salman was supposed to play a Lion-hearted He-Man in it. However, the film was postponed indefinitely due to many reasons, VFX being touted as one of the major reasons for it being shelved that time.
But here’s some good news for all the Salman fans. Sohail who was supposed to direct the movie has confirmed that it is back on track. During a promotional event of Celebrity Cricket League, Sohail told News18, “That’s (VFX) one area where technology is growing by bounds. Every time we would finish the scripting of Sher Khan, I would watch another Marvel film and that used to make me feel backdated in terms of what I’ve written and how I want the action to be. I knew that by the time the film comes out, it would look backdated.”
Sohail added that he wanted to get accustomed to the idea that he would create something which would release three years later after it’s made. So, Sohail realised he has to think of something that’s the future and not present, that’s how Marvel and DC films score.
He further added, “They pre-empt what’s going to happen. Our action is more human, so when we go into technology-based action, there’s a slack. We think of the present times while the rest of the world keeps moving on.” Khan confirmed that now that the film is on track again, he intends to take it on floors in 2025.
The actor-director also confirmed that he plans to take his romcom starring Aayush Sharma on floors this year. Sohail has directed Salman earlier in movies like ‘Auzaar’, ‘Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya’, ‘Hello Brother’ and ‘Jai Ho’.
