Amidst stiff competition from Animal, Vicky Kaushal‘s war biopic, Sam Bahadur, experienced a major uptick in its box office collections through it third weekend.
The film earned about Rs 2.25 crore on Friday, then it saw a near 100% jump in its collection on Saturday to collect Rs 4.5 crore and on Sunday it saw a rough jump if 36 % collecting Rs 5.50 crore as per industry tracker Sacnilk, taking the third weekend collection of the film to Rs 12.25 crore.The grand total of the film now stands at Rs 76.85 crore after spending 17 days at the box office.

The film had collided with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal at the box office and that has hurt the film the most, as Animal has unleashed a beast at the box office, amassing more than Rs 512 crore in just 17 days. Though the film has begun to see a drop in its collection, over the weekend it saw a major jump collecting more than Rs 35 crore at the box office. Animal now needs less than 12 crores to beat Gadar 2’s record of Rs 524.75 crore in India.
Sam Bahadur opened to mixed reviews, but has been able to maintain a certain pace at the box office. The film is based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Made on a reported budget of Rs 55 crore, the film aims to end its lifetime total at over Rs 85 crore.The going for Sam Bahadur and Animal will get tough with the release of Dunki and Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire but the theater owner are more than happy to accommodate both the film as they are still going strong and still have potential.
Post Sam Bahadur, Vicky will be seen in a guest appearance in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki.
