Sam Smith has made their runway debut during Paris Fashion Week, revealing a dramatically different look.
The British singer, who uses the pronouns they/ them, walked the Vivienne Westwood Fall/Winter 2024 runway show on March 2.
Smith, best known for hits Stay With Me and Unholy, was seen wearing a plaid shawl, a matching kilt and a green long-sleeved shirt.

It was matched with plaid platform boots, red and black knee-high socks and a wooden walking stick.
The 31-year-old had a plaid and black headpiece that draped to one side.
Their second look was a long-sleeved black ensemble made of woven strips with a matching hat and bag.
Smith shared photos of both looks on social media, tagging Vivienne Westwood’s creative director Andreas Kronthaler.
Kronthaler was the spouse of Westwood, who died in 2022.
“Thank you, Andreas, for having me to walk in such a beautiful show 🤍,” Smith wrote.
The official Vivienne Westwood Instagram account shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Smith and all the models.
The caption was a quote by American-British author Henry James: “A tradition is kept alive only by something being added to it.”
Fans were quick to react to Smith’s post, divided by the new looks.
“The absolute state of him! I bet my Scottish ancestors are turning” one X user said.
“Attention seeking, those drastic boots … too much” another said.
People were quick to defend Smith, arguing that they are simply a model for a major fashion house.
“Relax! Like all models, they don’t decide on what they wear,” one said.
“Can everyone relax, it’s for Vivienne Westwood’s fashion show,” a second said.
“Ah, I see you’ve never heard of Vivienne Westwood,” added another.
“You know it’s just a fashion show, right? Also props to Sam for being able to walk in those boots.”
