SAN JOSE — David Perron scored with 1:30 left in the third period to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-3 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.

Perron had control of the puck to the left of the Sharks’ net and sent it toward the crease, where defenseman Kyle Burroughs tried to tie up Wings center Dylan Larkin. But the puck appeared to go off Burroughs’ skate before it slid past goalie Kaapo Kahkonen.

The goal was the second of the third period for Perron. Michael Rasmussen added an empty netter for Detroit with 5.6 seconds left as the Sharks were sent to their ninth straight loss.

Kahkonen finished with 26 saves. The Sharks next play Thursday at home against the Winnipeg Jets.

Alexander Barabanov snapped a 10-game goal drought and registered his 100th NHL point as he scored at the 9:24 mark of the third period to give the Sharks a 3-2 lead.

The Red Wings got that goal back just 91 seconds later. With Jan Rutta serving a holding penalty, Daniel Sprong sent a seam pass over to Perron, who ripped a one-timer past Kahkonen for his eighth goal of the season.

The Sharks and Red Wings entered the third period tied at three after Justin Bailey scored his second goal of the season.

After a failed clearing attempt by the Red Wings, Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro took control of the puck inside Detroit’s blue line and fired a shot at the net. Bailey, coming out of the corner, redirected the puck past Red Wings goalie Alex Lyon at the 18:54 mark of the second period.

The Sharks fell behind 2-1 at the 6:07 mark of the second period, as shot from inside the blue line by J.T. Compher appeared to handcuff Kahkonen.

The Sharks and Wings were tied 1-1 after the first period as Sprong scored for Detroit and Fabian Zetterlund scored his 11th of the season for San Jose.
