On January 10, Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani announced the nominees for the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, streaming live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles this Saturday, February 24.
After a strange year for SAG-AFTRA—one that saw thousands of motion-picture and television actors strike for months as they negotiated a new contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP)—Saturday’s ceremony will celebrate both the best of film and TV in 2023 and the union’s triumph over Hollywood’s major studios last fall. (SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher, who led the union’s efforts alongside chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, gave brief remarks before Rae and Nanjiani presented the nominees.)
So, what projects are up for an Actor (or several) tonight? And what might the SAG slate tell us about the Oscars this spring? Scroll on to find the full list of 2024 SAG Award nominees.
