If you get your weather news from large rodents, then you already know that preeminent meteorology marmot Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow on Groundhog Day last week. That means, extremely scientifically, that, despite any climatological evidence to the contrary or the unwavering timing of the vernal equinox, spring will be early. And if you need any more proof that spring will have sprung before you can say “Pennsylvania Dutch,” just take a look at Selena Gomez‘s latest manicure.
Gomez attended the premiere of Lola over the weekend, wearing a look that absolutely did not deserve to be upstaged by the Grammy Awards. Her black, tuxedo-style suit and white satin bustier are devastatingly chic and truly lend themselves to any manicure color and style. But instead of the goth feel, neutral tones, or chrome moment some celebrities have been going for lately, Gomez opted for a polish shade that screamed, “I am ready for April showers to bring May flowers.”

The pastel lavender hue comes from the Aprés Nail Strawberry Milk Chocolate Valentine’s Day Palette — yes, a palette. From the looks of the photo Gomez’s go-to nail artist Tom Bachik posted, it looks like a periwinkle cream eye shadow, but it’s actually a gel polish that Bachik can paint on with a separate brush.
