A San Francisco State student had unlikely assistance with her move to campus on Friday.
After the student’s grandparents accidentally rolled over their vehicle, a crew from the San Francisco Fire Department helped the student move her belongings to her new residence, the department said in a tweet.
SFFD became aware of the vehicle rollover through 911 calls and responded to the scene around 6 p.m., Cpt. Jonathan Baxter, a spokesperson for the department, told SFGATE.

The grandparents, who were “very concerned their granddaughter wouldn’t get her personal belongings” and be able to move in, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, SFFD said. Baxter said he believes it was a “low speed” and “low impact collision.”
After reporting to the scene, the firefighters made the decision to help the student, Baxter said. He added that it took about an hour for the crew to help her, but he said the firefighters were on-call monitoring their radios and no emergencies occurred during that time period.
SF State officials acknowledged the firefighters’ help during the weekend.
