As the film gets ready for its December 21 release and advance bookings opened worldwide, the actor flew out to Dubai for a special fan event. Over the weekend, SRK was spotted at the Mumbai airport catching his flight out to Dubai, where he was scheduled to meet his fans in a grand event that saw him putting his best foot forward for a song and dance session.
Dressed in a jacket a tee and cargos, the actor hit the stage and danced to his new song ‘O Maahi’ and even performed the hit Pathaan song ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’.
While interacting with the audience, Khan spilled the beans about the plot of his film ‘Dunki’ and revealed that it revolved around the topic of ‘home is where the heart is’.
Speaking to fans in Dubai, he said, “I know that a lot of you people have left your homes and have made Dubai your second home. From India, Bangladesh, the rest of the subcontinent, so many of you are here from Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Now you all are far from home, but you have acquired a new home. Still you have a deep love for your home and have this longing to go back.”
“This whole film talks about home is where the heart is.”
Billed as a saga of friendship, ‘Dunki’ is based on an illegal immigration technique named ‘donkey flight’. Elaborating further on this, SRK said, “It deals with going out, finding a future for yourself, but loving your home the most. It is about homecoming. That, no matter where you live in the world, it is always the heart’s yearning to come back home.”
The star went on to encourage fans to watch the movie with the entire family. He said, “Take your parents, children, and family members for this film as it has a beautiful message.”
‘Dunki’ was cleared by the CBFC last week and was awarded a ‘U/A’ certificate with a few modifications. The film is set to have a long runtime of 161 minutes. It marks Shah Rukh’s third and last release of 2023 following back-to-back action blockbusters in ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan‘.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie also features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover.
