As per the latest teaser image shared by Skoda, it gives us a glimpse of the SUV’s rear fascia. It features L-shaped LED taillights with a bold ‘Skoda’ badge in the centre and it also appears to have a chunky rear bumper and roof rails. Overall, it looks like a mini Kushaq with a few changes. Along with releasing the teaser, the company also said that the new compact SUV will make its global debut in January 2025 and launch is expected to take place by March 2025.
In terms of design, it’s expected to be in line with other Skoda models with signature grille sleek LED DRLs and split headlights. Talking about the powertrain and gearbox, the new company SUV is most likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine with 115 hp of power and 178 nm of torque. Gearbox options will include a 6-speed torque converter and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of features, the SUV is expected to get a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system which will likely be an 8.0-inch unit with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a semi-digital cluster, automatic climate control, single-pane electric sunroof, multiple airbags, auto headlamps with wipers, rear AC vents, cruise control, rear camera with sensors and more.

This engine already does the duty on the Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, VW Virtus and Taigun. When launched, the new compact SUV will take on the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 300 and other sub-4m SUVs in the Indian market. In terms of pricing, it’s expected to start from Rs 8 lakh for the entry-level trim and up to Rs 14 lakh for the top-of-the-line trim (both prices ex-showroom, expected)
