The post shared by My AI featured a simple two-toned image, leading some individuals to mistakenly believe it was a snapshot of their own ceiling. As users attempted to engage in conversation with the bot, certain instances saw the AI responding with messages like “Apologies, I’ve encountered a technical problem.”
Snapchat acknowledged the issue
Snapchat later confirmed that My AI was facing some issues. The company said that the chatbot faced a technical glitch and the issue has also been resolved. “My AI experienced a temporary outage that’s now resolved,” a spokesperson told TechCrunch.
Snap’s My AI received negative reviews
This is not the first time that the Snapchat chatbot has been in the news. In April this year, the My AI chatbot received a lot of negative reviews from the users.
According to TechCrunch’s report, Sensor Tower, an app intelligence company, disclosed that the average App Store review rating in the United States stood at 1.67, with approximately 75% of these reviews receiving a one-star rating. The report further notes a fivefold increase in the daily volume of app reviews.
