Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. The wedding, held at Sonakshi’s sprawling sea-facing, 26-floor apartment in Bandra West on Sunday, was attended by close friends and family, including her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. After completing all the legal formalities of a civil marriage, the couple is now officially husband and wife.
A touching video from their wedding rituals has surfaced online, which has captured an emotional moment for Sonakshi. The video was posted by Jannat Vasi Lokhandwala, an interior designer by profession and a close friend of the newlyweds. In the video, Sonakshi and Zaheer are seen sitting on a couch, adorned with floral garlands. Sonakshi is dressed in an elegant traditional suit, while Zaheer looks handsome in a white embroidered kurta.
Jannat is seen performing a ritual and sharing a warm hug with the couple. Sonakshi, visibly moved by the emotional moment, gets teary-eyed and is seen controlling her tears with a tissue in her hand. She captioned the post, “My brother is married. Congratulations Paa & Sona. So happy for you. @iamzahero @aslisona.”

The public attention has moved to the reception venue, Bastian, the Asian-inspired modernist restaurant on Linking Road in Mumbai. Several celebrities including Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Rekha, Anil Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Aditya Roy Kapur, Vidya Balan, Honey Singh, Huma Qureshi among others graced the reception.

For Sunday night’s party, the theme is black and red, and a team of decorators at work in Bastian arranged an array of red flowers and rolled out the red carpet. DJ Ganesh, who’s known for his eclectic choice of music, will be performing live at the reception.
