We recently named the 100 best spas in the world, which meant a lot of glamorous things became part of our weekly routine, including drinking a lot of fancy, fruit-infused water.
Jokingly (but also colloquially) referred to as “spa water,” infused H20 has been recently reborn as “sexy water” on social media apps like TikTok. So what makes it so sexy? The ingredients that are mixed in to supercharge it and make hydrating just a little bit more romantic, of course.
A couple of sliced strawberries, a pinch of salt, or classic cucumbers—anything you want to infuse into a glass of water is suddenly sexy according to this wellness trend. Content creator Kelly Grace Mae has been making sexy water since earlier this year—and her concoction includes osmosis water (“I don’t really know what that means!” she says), ice, fresh mint, electrolytes, and a combo of tinctures from wellness brand Sakara: Detox Water Drops with chlorophyllin and Beauty Water Drops with trace minerals.
Sexy water has health benefits on top of hydration, depending on what you mix in. Slices of lemon in hot or cool water is an easy way to start your sexy water journey (with the added benefit of reduced anxiety and a stronger immune system), if you’re feeling nostalgic from a past trip to the spa, reach for cucumbers and mint—it’s not just fancy, but can help with digestion, quell nausea, and add antioxidants.
Doctors and dentists note to switch off between sexy water and regular, boring not-sexy water, or else your tooth enamel may be affected. But anything that helps to stay hydrated in the summer is a sexy win to us.
