Many app homepages have become cluttered with suggestions and ads based on users’ previous activities. However, YouTube now offers a solution. By turning off your watch history and not having significant prior watch history, you can enjoy a cleaner homepage that only displays the search bar and essential buttons like Shorts, Subscriptions, and Library.
In other words, your YouTube page will have a clean and simple look that is easy on the eyes. The changes in the home feed will be gradually rolled out over the next few months for both the web and mobile versions of YouTube.
If you want to completely clean up your YouTube page, you should delete your watch history. Otherwise, you will still receive recommendations based on your previous activities. You can either use the pop-up’s “Delete old activity” link or visit the YouTube History page to delete your history.
Keep in mind that even with these changes, you may not see a significant difference in your recommendations right away. Google states that the changes will take a few months to roll out completely. However, by following these steps, you’ll be prepared for when the changes do take effect.
