Edwina Bartholomew is regularly praised for being so open about body image on social media.

Now, the Sunrise star revealed how motherhood has profoundly changed the way she relates to her body.

Eddy shares two young children, Molly, 4, and Tom, 2, with husband Neil Varcoe.

This month, Bartholomew appeared on the cover of Prevention magazine, saying she had learnt to let go of societal expectations after two pregnancies.

“It sounds clichéd, but I’m completely in awe of what my body has achieved in the past few years in terms of having two babies,” Bartholomew told the magazine.

Bartholomew said she was always mindful what her young daughter was learning from her.

“I’m so conscious of the message I send to my daughter about being proud of her body and having her own identity.

“Like, she leaves the house in the craziest outfits. She’s at that age where you just have no comprehension of anyone else’s opinion of you, which is so wonderful.

“I’ve learnt so much from that, and I want to give so much of that back to her. So I’m so conscious of what I portray to her in terms of how I feel about myself.

“And that goes with ageing, with weight, with shape … I’m very aware of the language I use, what she sees and how I behave in front of her.”

Edwina is known for her inspirational body image content on Instagram, such as a post in January in which she shared a gorgeous elevator selfie where she is seen wearing a pair of pinstripe pants.

“Anyone battling with the impossible standard of bouncing back after having a baby … I bought these pants in LA before I was pregnant with Molly,” she wrote.

“Today — they fit again.

“FIVE YEARS LATER.

“It takes time.

“Go easy on yourself.”

Bartholomew is currently pretty busy as she and Varcoe restore a historic hotel in Carcoar, in regional NSW.

The couple announced last year that they were going to be working on getting the hotel, formerly called The Victoria 1846, back up and running.

The pair have put their life-savings into the project, with Eddy saying the new hotel — since renamed Saltash Farm — would exhibit all the greatest elements of farm life.

“We’ll have sheep, we’ll have bees, we’ll have an orchard … but it’s not a farm on a grand scale,” Edwina said.

“It’s right in the middle of this beautiful little town and we hope and pray that it’ll be a success.”
