Edwina said Brekky Central’s Powerball syndicate won a total of $48 this week.
“(We paid in) $360 in total from everyone here — that was our expenditure — but our win? $48,” she said, having a laugh.
Despite the less-than-impressive win, Eddy was far from being down about it.
“That’s enough to reinvest, on the positive side.”
However, it was bad news for Eddy who admitted she forgot to pay her share in the syndicate this week.
The admission was met with a round of laughter from the Sunrise panel, with Matt Doran admitting he also forgot to pay into the syndicate — with co-host Nat Barr generously paying his share.
“I forgot to give my cash,” Matt said.
Nat shot back that she was repaid “very quickly” by her co-host.
“I was prompt — I was a little afraid if I didn’t, what would happen?” Matt said with a laugh.
“I would not have let you have your share (of any possible win)!” quick-witted Nat replied.
Nat previously revealed she won $900 in Powerball in August 2023.
The Powerball jackpot skyrocketed to $150 million after Thursday night Division One prize of $100 million had no winners.
Australians will now have a chance to score the second-biggest jackpot the nation has seen in next Thursday’s draw.
While there were no division one winners in Thursday’s draw, a total of 3,445,440 prizes worth more than $71.1 million were won in divisions two to nine.
The winning numbers were 17, 20, 21, 22, 24, 31 and 34, and the Powerball 6.
There were 15 Division Two winners, each taking home more than $130,000.
Lottery officials said they were expecting a massive demand for tickets for Thursday’s draw, with up to half of Australian adults expected to enter.
“It’s undeniable that the idea of winning a slice of the $150 million Division One prize will captivate the minds of many Australians this week as anticipation and excitement builds,” The Lott’s Anna Hobdell said after Thursday night’s draw.
“We expect a surge in lottery outlets and online as we approach Thursday night’s multimillion-dollar draw.”
Hobdell said the peak of sales for last night’s draw occurred with less than an hour until entries closed.
More than 7000 tickets were sold in a single minute.
